Thecommencement address was delivered by Congresswoman Alma Adams, whorepresents North Carolina's 12th Congressional District.Congresswoman Adams is also an alumna of North Carolina Agriculturaland Technical State University, having earned her undergraduatedegree in 1968. In her speech, she spoke about the importance ofeducation and the role that HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges andUniversities) like North Carolina Agricultural and Technical StateUniversity play in providing opportunities for students fromunderrepresented communities. Followingthe commencement address, the graduates were individually recognizedand presented with their diplomas.
